A vital part of being a great leader is being a great listener. There are three important steps to becoming a better listener:
1. Be Aware – Pay attention to body language, identify any of your own bias feelings, and take responsibility for your emotions. This will allow your conversation to get to a deeper level.
2. Make Time – To truly be a part of the conversation and give all your attention to the situation, it is important to set aside time to focus without distraction.
3. Ask Questions – The only way to seek to understand, is by seeking with questions. Ask more questions and don’t assume.
Use these three tips for your next one on one meeting and you will get so much more out of the conversation.
